Dear Parent or Guardian,
We would like to welcome you and your child to Pre-AP Biology at Stratford High School. This course is designed to equip
your child with basic scientific skills, as well as give an understanding of the biological world around us. However, my
personal goal is to help each student achieve his/her maximum potential in Biology, while instilling responsibility, hard
work, and communication skills that are needed in today's society.
Each student will participate in classroom labs and projects to enhance the learning experience. Some of our class activities
and projects extend beyond the classroom, requiring students to collect data at home or in their communities. Because this
is a Pre-AP course, it will require more outside class time. Students will be expected to exhibit higher level thinking skills
through extensive projects, labs, and exams. This will better prepare you for future AP classes. We welcome your questions
and comments and would be privileged to have you participate in or contribute to our class at any time.
